Chasing Poem by Joshua Hillard

Chasing

Rating: 5.0

In what lies at the bottom,
The center of this circle,
It's spinning in rotation,
But I can't make it through this hurdle,

I've stumbled to something new,
As these tears fill my eyes,
The presence of what was there,
Seems to remain in disguise,

Spending life to find the answers,
To the top I must emerge,
For the tide is becoming stronger,
My thunderstorms create the surge,

No amount of higher grounds,
Can keep me from as low as I am,
Sunken deep into this valley,
I am the shallow corpse of a man,

I spend my life chasing dreams,
In a world without a care,
Who would've known after all this time,
I was chasing a nightmare…

I've stumbled to something new, As these tears fill my eyes, The presence of what was there, Seems to remain in disguise. Great sense of emotional effects in this poem, Joshua. Keep warm up north on this January day. Thank you Sir. T.
