Cash Flashed, Teased And In Hand Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Cash Flashed, Teased And In Hand

Cash to have,
Flashed, teased...
And in hand to command,
One to question their faith.
Doubting how long God will take,
To satisfy a temptation impulse...
Whether to remain praying for cash,
They could have quicker.
Than praying for it to come.
Or ask God for a forgiveness done.
After doing a misdeed to do,
For an exchange to have money.
To know money burns,
Just as fast as paper.
But that paper made from trees,
Can be more easily received...
Than faithfully awaiting,
For prayers to be answered.

"Just say God sent you to me,
And my prayers have been answered."

-Look.
Here are the clothes,
I happened to have borrowed...
From the department store.
If you want to help me sell,
These borrowed clothes...
I will make it worth your prayers.
Some still have price tags.
Others I snatched from God's abundance! -

"This car?
Is it yours? "

-It too I borrowed from the store manager.
But there was something I forgot to do.-

"Oh?
And what was that? "

-For whatever the reason,
I forgot to thank him for his generosity.
And it dawned on me later,
He had been yelling 'Stop! '.
To allow me to do that.-

"And here you are,
Proving to me...
God does answers prayers."

-Wow!
I can not believe,
This is happening to me.-

"You?
Both of us should confess,
How blessed we are."

-God?
What have I done to deserve this? -

"Whoa!
I was JUST thinking that myself."
