Carcerem (A Rap Song) Poem by Joshua Adeyemi

Carcerem (A Rap Song)

You don't have to look down on yourself
you don't put your talent in shelf
you don't wanna sit down and rest
when others are giving their best
you don't wanna prune your mistakes
when your future's goddamn a-stake
you don't ever wanna be late:
better to be that than be late

(Chorus)

if you've crafted a route, and made a plan
make a lanky research, and find your man
make your wannabe self, just the man
you have drafted out, in that your plan

you don't have to give up on the wins
you don't wanna be slave, 'ought-to king'
you don't wanna make confetti of dreams;
hardship to marred misery lease
owe not your mistake to somebody
always claim your responsibilities
if you want a future that is bright
bail yourself from prison of the mind.

(Repeat chorus)
