British Bank Holiday Poem by Peter Edwards

British Bank Holiday

Bank holiday weekend is back again!
A week of sun soon turns to rain,
But still we endure the traffic jam,
Those English queues and orange cones,
To reach the beach, claim our strip of sand,
All wrapped in coats, to brave the wind
As bouncing boats bob with native beat,
Wind whipped waves,
Pile stinking seaweed all along the beach.
The cloudy skies release their rain
We celebrate Summer - gone again!
Can't take a swim, its just too wet,
Let's find the car, crawl home instead!

COMMENTS OF THE POEM
Analogous To Tower 7: Ameaning 04 September 2016

I just wrote a poem about the British & submitted it today too. Its probably of a different thread than yours, but echoes a single truth about you [British]; you are psychologically united.
