*bleeping* Times Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

*bleeping* Times

Will we ever come to leave behind,
These *bleeping* times.
To find our minds,
Picking up the pieces...
Of a sanity once regarded,
As a normalcy we all can agree...
Had been more beneficial.
Than pretending we are dysfunction free.
With delusions gone.
And common sense to depend upon,
At the best of our capability.

Will we ever come to believe,
Truth to deceive life to live...
Has not proven to unite,
What is wrong to make it right.
Or provided insight,
For anyone to claim...
The light shines too bright,
Upon their darkened...
Self inflicted visions.
Spiked with a taste to ignite conflicts.

Will we ever come to leave behind,
These *bleeping* times.
Done to invite,
The entertaining of our self destruction.
With utmost pretentiousness.
And an etiquette of hospitality...
Proper and unquestioned,
By the way it was tastefully done!
