Blanket Of Peace Poem by Bernedita Rosinha Pinto

Blanket Of Peace

As I will sit by the wall of fire
I will live by truth
I will abide by truth
I will die by truth;
I will not cross that wall of fire
I know you are waiting there
to engage me in atrocities of sin;
I have lived by the greatness of truth
I have loved by the vastness of passion
I have thought by innocence of my mind
I have borne with patience every hurdle;
you have not succeeded in making me fall
you have yourself lacked tolerance
you have yourself lost kindness
you have yourself foregone understanding
and fallen so many times in the eyes of others;
go look at the eyes of nature
the sun, the moon keeps staring at you everyday
as you keep moving;
your intentions are watched by God
your actions are your decisions
your decisions are your actions,
your strength is obsolete
if what you do and say is contrary
to your own euphoria and of others;
look upon those hills of time
you will keep walking up and down
but if you want to feel tireless
remember of God in the deeds and favors
you get from others
remember of God in the health and happiness
you enjoy in your lifetime
remember eternity in your prayers of devotion
and seek forgiveness by repentance.
And as you touch your head to the pillow
remember others need their blanket of peace
to cover themselves, which you are withholding from them;
remember we walk through this world, but just once..
