Amid her miserable life
sometimes she hummed the songs
of the hindi films;
looking at her image in the mirror
dreamt herself as the heroine
of a romantic movie
opposite to her favorite star.
Sometimes, she copying the dialogues
and gestures from the romantic scenes
of the popular movies.
Living in the red light area
she sometimes dreamt filmy dreams
taking break from the hardships of life.
And there at dusk songs
from the popular Hindi films
heard here and there.
She mused herself once like
a courtesan seen in a movie(Amar Prem)
whose songs captivated
the wealthy kind hearted babu.
Filmy romantic thoughts
In her youthful life
In the red light district
sometimes comforting her.
