An Ode To Lightning Poem by Victor Geld

An Ode To Lightning

A bold stroke of white
On the face of the firmament;
It turns night to day_
The ensuing roars and rumbles,
Like applauds after a great performance

It is like a magic trick,
The sky appears to rip apart
With a blink of an eye
It remains all but intact,
An endless dark sea

It presents itself as a great white river
Giving a touch of colour
To a dull stratosphere, then;
As quickly as it came,
The river melts into the sky,
Without a single trace in sight
