An Experience Poem by Anton Kar

An Experience

Rating: 4.0

I fell in love with her all of a sudden
I prayed and hoped and begged her pardon
Endeavoured to subdue, entice, persuade,
But hardly'd she succumbed to my attempt.

She is a mystery, that girl, a pain -
So people said, yet uselessly, in vain.
I didn't hark to them and kept desiring
Until she played a trick and got me dying.

I fell out of love with beauty in a flash,
I ran away and hid and then again I dashed,
Endeavoured to recover, to forget, defeat,
And, goodness me, I managed to succeed!
