America Is Weeping Poem by Faith Brigham

America Is Weeping

Rating: 5.0

America...
A nation once united is now divided
With a presidential election still undecided
Claims that it was rigged are reigning high
The coronavirus cases are still climbing
To a hefty million of them nation wide

It's plain to see America is weeping and
Longing for some peace and stability
Or perhaps just the return to normalcy
Remembering all the while we're still free
No masks for some nor social distancing
Could they be the simple
cause of the spread of the disease
With 245k deaths reportedly across the nation

You don't have to wear a uniform to be a hero
(But often times it helps to be)
If you stand and help reunite the country
Yes, America is still the land of the brave
Home to those who fight to keep her free
