Aint Dusk Yet Poem by Phillip Nine Mafunga

Aint Dusk Yet

There are times I acted like a fool
And I thought I was a saint
But self on self-reflection proved I needed a school

Arm in arm with self to penitence
To redeem the littl' humanity
There's remaining this side of the fence

When the iridescent colour of divine truce
Is paraded and displayed in the corridors of eschatology
To please the decadent Steve n' Bruce

I thought it was twilight for this civilization
Seeing how they've corrupted the littl' brains
Plunging posterity into moral degradation

There are times I thought common decency was dead
But somewhere in the land of the free, came some refreshers
That outlawed the sending of innocence to the land of the dead
