African Madonna Poem by DM W

African Madonna

An African Madonna;
A compassionate mother,
Tends to her silent son.
He who is slowly dying;
With washed out ribs
And blown out belly.
She combs the boy's hair,
So softly. It is as though
She is placing flowers
On the tiniest of graves.
