Acquaintance Poem by Phillip Erb

Acquaintance

All these feelings I ignore
I've been here a million times before
Trying to dock the boat on the shore
I'm always needing a little more
To hold me back down to the floor
I met you days ago working as a whore
Left you to leave me alone in more
In Need of something brand new and
More
Newly built by a million little chores
Added up where you left me staring through open doors
