A Skin Made Of Kisses Poem by John Paul Butler

A Skin Made Of Kisses

You've kissed me all over
And so many times that now
My outer skin consists
Of nothing else but these kisses
They don't shed and won't be
Wiped or washed off
Because they're stuck on permanently
Not that l'd want to remove them
Some delicate then the more passionate
Each a piece of amore armour
And l need no further layers
Be it soul or light or salt or clothing
I need no further dressing
Than this skin made of kisses
In which l'm wholly present and will wear
Until the moment of my passing
