I sit by the pond
And watch the pair of swans
Swimming in the clear water
Close to each other
Sending ripples towards the edges
Sometimes they touch
Each other's beak, spoon like;
Beat their wings to shake off water
And sit in a corner silently
In this lonely world
They are a happy pair
Living their life oblivious to
What is going on around
What lies ahead for them
They are living the present
Swans mate for life and take it in turns to sit on an egg in their nest. Nice poem.
