A New Death A.K.A. She's Gone Poem by Rick Elpers

A New Death A.K.A. She's Gone

Rating: 5.0

The moon rises over the mountain in
my backyard.
Golden sunlight immerses it
with temporary warmth
I stand empty
Birds sing their night song
I stand here empty
I stand here deaf to it
For all I can hear is her voice
Telling me she has another love
Someone to replace me
Someone who's exceeds my love
My consideration
My life
Oh god why hast thou forsaken me
Yet again?
