A Knock At The Door Poem by Michael P. Johnson

A Knock At The Door

A KNOCK AT THE DOOR
"I don't believe in all that rot
Yet even if it's true
I'm quite content with what I've got
What can your God now do

I have no time I can't be long
I need to close the door
In any case, I do no wrong
I never break the law

This Jesus stuff, must be a lie
There can't be any God!
That Christ for me; would choose do die
I think it rather odd

Why would He come to set me free?
Why should He even care?
How could He know; someone like me?
If I was never there

Before you go about your way
Explain this birth anew
I hear about it every day
I'd like to hear your view

Of rapture and of Jesus' bride
Explain about the fold
Yet first why don't you come inside?
Come in! I'm getting cold

Out there! I felt the strangest thing
You must know how I feel
Such peace, such joy I want to sing
I think that Christ is real

How blind I was, but now I know
I see my life of shame
I'm pleased my friend you didn't go
I'm truly glad you came.".....

A very truthful poem, very beautiful with the story of many people will take the time to open the door, what a cost to them. May God Bless Michael who wrote these truthful words. Have a great future. 'Aubry'
