A Husband Poem by Sammy Aswani Luyove

A Husband

Rating: 5.0

I was writing a new dictionary
Of words people never understand
I wrote word by word, up the alphabet,
Then the animal they call 'husband'
Was I to define, as a man that:
When he has an ache in the head,
You take aspirins in his stead;
When the village calls him mad
You strip naked
And storm the market in his stead
And leave him at home chained;
When he has his nose running close,
You blow and wipe your own nose
And deep your feet in cold water,
To freeze his fever.

Very true words. This is exactly what happens always. Beautiful.
