A God In A Manger Poem by Michael Ejire

A God In A Manger

Rating: 5.0

Shepherd, why this jubilee?
Wise men, why this long journey?

Anna, why this long wait?
Simeon, why this long wait?

Heaven, why this sudden wonders?
Nature, what is the cause of thy wonder?

Behold! A God has come,
A Saviour has come.

Behold the great king!
A new song to sing.

The long awaited messiah is here;
The brightest light of all lights is here.

Where is He that is born King of the Jews?
Where is He that descended like a morning dew?

Here He lies, In a lowly manger.
A God in a manger!

O ye Angels gather!
Sing hallelujah!

For unto us a God was born this day;
Born with heavenly ray to show the pathway.

He came in humility to experience mortality,
And turn our negativity to positivity.

Oh come and worship;
Embrace His friendship.
Come, and acknowledge His kingship.

Lift up your voices and make His glory known,
Bow before His glorious throne,
For forever his name shall be known!
