A Dog-Eared Storybook Poem by Mark Heathcote

A Dog-Eared Storybook

Life isn't a fairy-tale
It's a dog-eared storybook.
Then it's closed folks,
It comes to an end.
Big or small
The mightier the oak
The harder they fall.

Yes life is a 'dog-eared storybook', such a wonderful image and it is the job of us poets to examine and rejoice in its pages.
