A Broken Poem Poem by Oduro Bright Amoh

A Broken Poem

Rating: 4.5

I hear the broken music of your tears.
I listen, heartful to the drumming of your heart
And read the silences between.
Sad tune by sad tune you hum the sorrows
Of a hated love.
Who mends the heart broken
By the one who mended it?
Who begins a line of happy thoughts
And without an applause ends it?
Right with a bundle of promises;
Left all of them broken.
I dream of lonely songs chorused by the ripple
Of a fallen tear into your pool of tears.
I am just a man who wrongly left right his feelings.
In my heart the longing,
In my mouth the fear.
I battle with the feelings of depth
And die with the depth of feelings.
The dirges of your sorrow
Make something inside me die.
I have sorrows.
They are my own.
Regrets, shame and regrets
Have reddened my eyes,
They have sat upon my heart like tenants
Who just paid their dues.
I am a lost soul following a lost cost
Hoping it won't be a lost course
You are not out of your mind.
I understand.
Your love is deeper than the bosom of the sea.
Enclosed in your open mind is my closed heart.
Your heart is leading your soul.
You love me and I....I.......
I hear the broken music of your tears
And read the silences between.
