Hi my name is Riquetta but everybody calls me 'Shia' or 'Rere.' I'm 19 years old and I attend Fayetteville Technical Community College. I've been writing poems since I was 17. I read most of the famous poets poems like Edgar Allan Poe, Emily Dickerson, Robert Frost, T.S. Eliot, Khalil Gibran, Langston Huges, Maya Angelou, and my most favorite poet Walt Whitman. I read most of his work and loved it. Thats the reason why I write a free verse poem because of Mr. Whitman. He is my inspiration of my work.)

People whisper when I perform,

You asked on your comment about my poem 'A Poem I Could Not See', 'what are you trying to say in this message? '...Explanation: .I read a poem that was dedicated to me by a poet on poemhunter...the poem made no sense and I did not know if the writer was being kind or critical... (my poem referred to his words being 'up and down' and confusing) Turns out he was being kind but I had already written this poem to express my feelings about the writer's 'dedicated' poem to me.
