If a man is serene in stormy youth,
At peace is he in truth;
When passions no more rage,
Who's not calm in old age?

Transliteration of the subhāśhita along with the meanings of Sanskrit words is given as under:

nave vayasi yah shāntah sah shāntah iti me matih |
dhātuśhu kśhiņamāņeśhu shāntih kasya na jāyate ||

nave vayasi: at the peak of youth, in young age; yah: one who (is): shāntah: at peace, peaceful and serene, calm and quiet; sah shāntah: he (is)peaceful and serene; iti: so;
me matih:(is)my opinion, my belief; dhātuśhu: (when all)the sense organs;
kśhīņamāņeśhu: (are)worn out and dull (with age): shāntih: a sense of peace/serenity;
kasya: to whom; na jāyate: (does)not beget?
