Untold Soldiers Poem by Felix Otiende

Untold Soldiers

UNTOLD SOLDIERS
In the sun, in the rain, in the winds across this land
I echo this message across the seas
I know of untold soldiers
We don't celebrate them nor remember them
They struggle and battle cancer daily
Chemotherapy is tough than Vietnam flights

There is honor in a soldier you hear it when he/she talks
A soldier is always a soldier even while a sleep
I salute all cancer patients
You are great and true soldier of our generation
I will always celebrate you

This one is for that lady with breast cancer,
With a single breast yet breast feeds her daughter,
That woman who sold everything just to be with her family,
Heroism runs in your blood,
You have the spirit of a lioness.

This one is for that man on the wheelchair,
Who lost his legs to cancer,
Yet believes life has offered him second chance,
Taking the bitter medication with dedication,
Yes you are a soldier,
Providing for the family daily bread,
Cancer does not scar you are an angel.

This one is for all the cancers patients,
From cervix cancer to breast cancer,
And the cancers you provide the answers,
Answers that nothing can not be defeated,
You are the true real soldiers.

To all the souls that died of cancer,
You died like a soldier,
You fought a great battle,
You are to be celebrated,
You are the bravest soldier the world ever had,
May your souls rest in power and peace.
