Under Tree Tops Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Under Tree Tops

Incessantly walking down lanes through forests of imagination,
taking time to see every detail under the tree tops.

Little animals looking curiously, running or hopping every-
where, trying to hide away from we humans.

A lively atmosphere filled with mother nature's beauty and
solace, interacting silently with my soul.

Enjoying every moment spent in solitude, charging interior
batteries with special joy and grace.

I just started reading your poems with two on suicide, and it strikes me this poem displays an attitude to life which is the polar opposite of a suicidal impulse. First, you find wonder in that given of our existence - NATURE - and that takes you outside of the narrow horizons of self-absorption. Second, you are singing the praises of other living things - existence is not a burden you have to carry, but a gift you carry to distribute to one and all. Which is exactly what this poem achieves!
