Truth Poem by Edward Jeffery

Truth

Face the truth, sealed in lies
Born again Christian with closed eyes

You meet every Sunday just before noon
Listen to others who think, dress, and talk just like you

You force your children, down on two knees
To pray to a porcelain god and make believe

Center stage stands a man of many words who
Preaches forgiveness with a twinkle in his eyes

Soon out comes the basket for all to repent, give me some
cash and I will forgive your sins
