True Poem by Craig Morgan Teicher

True

If it were true it would make more sense. It must
not be true. It makes too much sense. The truth
makes no sense. Too true. It's too good to be true.
It makes no sense, it must be true. Or must not.
But you need it to be true. It's only true if you believe.
You believe so it must be true. You believe, so
it cannot be true. You believe in truth. What you
believe is the truth. So the truth is what you wish.
Wish come true, no longer a wish, but the truth,
which makes no sense, so cannot be true. The truth
is not the truth. Tell me the truth. Lie to me. Lie
to tell the truth. Little white lie. How tell the truth
from a lie? The truth is white, like a light, like a lie.
It's a lie. If it were truth, it would make more light.
