Translation Of An Urdu Poem: I Cannot Call You A Moon By Rahi Masoom Raza

I cannot call you a moon
Because the moon dances around
the earth in all four directions.
I am a lover, I move around you
like the moon around the earth
and the earth around the moon
dance incessantly.
Still I am not a moon.
I am a slice of a cloud
lifted by your grace and
delivered to soft winds,
by your wafting hair.
Yet what's the cloud fate?
My longings in your absence
will melt it into a tear.

Original in Urdu

tujh ko chāñd nahīñ kah saktā
kyūñki ye chāñd to is dhartī ke chaar taraf nāchā kartā hai
maiñ albatta dīvāna huuñ
tere gird phirā kartā huuñ
jaise zamīñ ke gird ye chāñd aur sūraj ke gird apnī zamīñ nāchā kartī hai
lekin maiñ bhī chāñd nahīñ huuñ
maiñ bādal kā ik TukḌā huuñ
jis ko terī qurbat kī kirnoñ ne uThā kar zulfoñ jaisī narm havā ko sauñp diyā hai
lekin bādal kī qismat kyā
tere firāq kī garmī mujh ko pighlā kar phir aañsū ke ik qatre meñ tabdīl karegī

Lovely poem and so very well translated. Call it the effect of being a little out of touch with transliteration that I enjoyed the translation more.
