Today Poem by Pierre Rausch

Today

Because it would be superfluous
Into the spaces between her photo
See herself surrounded
Somehow she has to get in

Today... Today we make ourselves
I'm living for now, for today
It smells like an ashtray
Ritual phone calls and passengers
Today... Today we make ourselves
I'm living for now, for today
It smells like an ashtray
Ritual phone calls and passengers

She says without saying hello
I love her and want to be with her
If I haven't had a home right now
Where am I? What am I even doing?

Today... Today we make ourselves
I'm living for now, for today
It smells like an ashtray
Ritual phone calls and passengers
Today... Today we make ourselves
I'm living for now, for today
It smells like an ashtray
Ritual phone calls and passengers

I can't accept that
I don't know where you get this
Silent, premium micro-compacting
She has never wanted anything so much

Today... Today we make ourselves
I'm living for now, for today
It smells like an ashtray
Ritual phone calls and passengers
Today... Today we make ourselves
I'm living for now, for today
It smells like an ashtray
Ritual phone calls and passengers
