‘’Tis time for marriage, daughter dear, ’
Her father tells her lovingly;
‘You cannot have your parents near,
For aging turns all elderly.’

‘’Tis time you chose a life-partner,
And have a family of your own;
We love to see our grand-children
Come eat, and play and have great fun.’

‘Your parents are now getting old;
You cannot stay with them life-long;
Living alone is for the bold;
In solitude, most things go wrong.’

‘Matrimony’s a sacrament –
A vow to share your joys and woes,
With your one spouse and have a home,
Where love, peace, harmony prevail.’
