The Pathetic Plight Of Children Today Poem by Dr John Celes

Born in squalor, neglected
Kept as slaves, used and abused
Forced to beg, steal, lie and kill
Raped and murdered, burnt alive
Held as captives for ransom
Beaten black and blue for faults
Made to work as bonded slaves
Used in races, sacrifice
Forced to witness murders foul
Trained to shoot like militants
Made to do odd jobs for free
Treated in inhumane ways
Caught in cross-fires in wars
Taught to indulge in vices
Made to witness horror scenes
Denied learning, food and play
Forced into prostitution
Orphaned, aborted and killed
Left in garbage dumps new born
Sold for kidneys or as slaves
What a cruel world exists
For children all over the earth!
Will not adults give them love,
And make their lives better for them?
