The Forest: In Between The Branches Poem by Jeremy Horsford

The Forest: In Between The Branches

Rating: 5.0

I awoke this morning to a note on my bedside table, which read:

My dearest love,

I came to London seeking a new career, new friends, a new life and I found you.

I've tried to escape you, I've tried to hate you, and now I love you.

You use to bring light into my darkest day. The love you use to show me managed to dilute my days of grey.

Life in 'The Forest' has deeply upset me.

Life in 'The Forest' is full of controversy.

Life in 'The Forest' has cut my ground. Fortunately when you reappeared you tended to my wound.

But something is different. Is this force majeure or are you an imposter?

You are mine, you will be mine.

Despite your response, I will be there, for you, forever. We were made for each other.

I will walk the earth until we meet again. I will battle our daily enemies, just so we can live again.

I will never give you up.
