The Deeds Of The Devil Poem by Swetashree Sahoo

The Deeds Of The Devil

Rating: 4.0

Those neat notebooks were supposed to be scribbled with ink,
You smeared them with blood.

Those bricked walls were supposed to be the witness of celebrations,
You ravaged them by bullets.

That pristine place was supposed to be the mosque of knowledge,
You silenced it like a morgue.

That learned lady was supposed to be the teacher of reason,
You burnt her in rage.

Those brave chests were supposed to be swelled with pride,
You hollowed them with grief.

Those innocent children were supposed to curl up in their mothers' arms,
You buried them in coffins.

Those tender souls were supposed to candle the dark future,
You made them a memory of the past.

But beware O devils of humanity..!
When peace will avenge,
your hearts that were supposed to beat,
will rather stop being aghast..! ! !

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
'It ain't water, its tears.
It ain't water, its sweat.
It ain't water, its blood.
The things you destroyed ain't yours. Beware when their owners will avenge, you will be vanquished to dust. Nothing of yours will be of value. Neither your tears, nor sweat or even your blood..! ! '

Rest in Peace, the souls Dead.
Do not Rest until it's Peace, the souls alive..! ! !

Love reigns supreme in all hearts! The language of love is universal, for humans as well as other species of life.
