The Best Of Surrenders

The best of surrenders
Jayaprakash A. Panicker

The Lord of the lost-loves
Oh, I beseech thee, now
In these most joyous times,
Shower thy balmy grace
On all the ones of this circle
Who are begging and giving.

I love my lord in the guise
Of the poorest of all around
When I see you in edifices
I fail to realize the ground.
May you not be draped in riches
Every time I may find one in rags?

Be a child, you spoke, for His love
Or empty yourself to escape to it.
In these times of love and joy
Let me stand up surrendered.

For, YOU let me simply realize
Only the toughest of conquerors
Can stage the biggest surrenders.
