That Summer Afternoon Poem by Evelyn Judy Buehler

That Summer Afternoon

Rating: 5.0

On the front porch swing, lost in a world of color,
Darting bluejays and ravishing blossoms sang summer!
Passersby peered at me, then nodded their greetings,
Like the sunshine in your face at butterfly meetings.

The sparkling pond captured perky, honeyed sunbeams,
And reflected blue skies with puffy clouds of cream.
While the lush emerald grass had grown rather tall,
I spotted more violet roses than I had ever recalled.

That world of colour is delightful. Don't we wish it could last forever. Nature is pure joy. As are your words.

Abounding in color and scenery, warm and placid, sounds like a wonderful place to write and contemplate.
