Terror Terror On The Wall, Who Is The Fiercest Of All? - Paris Attacks Poem by Bernedita Rosinha Pinto

Terror Terror On The Wall, Who Is The Fiercest Of All? - Paris Attacks

Rating: 4.0

Suddenly without a warning bell, they strike
innocent lives they silence in fractions of seconds;
before to safety can one run or under a table hide
unaware they die, unprepared for such a recluse;
mothers waiting for their children to come home
wives waiting for their husbands to knock at the door,
but that was the day before
that they came home for sure;
but this night they were lying dead
on the streets or in a cafe
and those at home never guessed
until they were informed that those they anticipate
will now never come, never speak, never laugh.
And those who have done them to death
were also sons, brothers, sisters who were restless
seeking vengeance, revolt, sin, unholiness,
they were those prying eagles atop the tree-tops
waiting to devour those unsuspecting innocent lives
they were the fiercest of all,
only the mirror forgot to tell.
