Stuck Poem by Rusty Ed Gibson

Stuck

its not what you want
or its not what it seems
it happens to everyone
just stuck in between

We walked to the bus
she sat next to me
she looked me in the eyes
and was a sweet as could be
she always flirted hard
she would make a big fuss
I had it my mind
there was something with us
then the day came
I saw her with him
they were holding hands
walking out of the gym
she tried to break it down
make me understand
If I were two years older
I could be her man

give me a little push
give me a little shove
even ask for help
from the good lord above
don't leave me here
stuck in between
a boy and a man
if you know what I mean

I made a few mistakes
some I wont live down
but I did what they said
and I left that town
my thinking messed up
my actions all wrong
they say behind these bars
is where I belong
I read every book
took time to pray
tried to get better
waiting for the day
now I'm out on my own
just needing a chance
to prove to the world
I'm worth more than a glance

give me a little push
give me a little shove
even ask for help
from the good lord above
don't leave me here
stuck in between
they turned me loose
but I'm not really free

she spent most of her years
as a mother and wife
taking care of others
giving them a nice life
she worked two jobs
to make ends meet
but she never held back
any love from me
she did all she could
all of her life
she gave so much love
to my kids and my wife
now here she is
at the end of the road
to tough to die
to weak to go home

give me a little push
give me a little shove
even ask for help
from the good lord above
don't leave me here
stuck in between
the life I used to live
and heaven where Ill be

give a little push
just a little shove
listen to the voice
of the good Lord above
do all you can
for everyone you meet
you never know who
is stuck in between
