Spending Time With Krishna Poem by Clive Culverhouse

Spending Time With Krishna

he knew I had fallen
we used to spend hours
looking out of the window
seeing mountains, trees, garbage trucks
juggling bins, delegates of sightseers

but the glass steamed over inside
with dust and pollution outside

.. enemies

so we sat trying to look out
while burning lips on coffee cups
rattling them to the table
yet somehow the path seemed further away

the windows might clear themselves
without being smashed with an axe
but I held the axe ready
I would have swung too

.. damn those enemies
