Speak Of Pain No More

Rating: 5.0

So now Thomas you are
Because I showed my scars
If so, then leave me bee
Are you trying to set me free
From loving you, which always brings pain
Persecution for loving the Son
If I don’t I’ll be deluged by rain
If I do I’ll sit in the sun
Well, I can’t help but remember
The man you truly are
So if you desire I will discontinue
Showing anymore of my scars
Most of them are pretty old anyway
Don’t know why I dragged them out.
To share them with the world?
Only adds to their doubts.
Not sure exactly why
The universe hates to hear of pain
It’s tough to appreciate sunlight
If you’ve never felt the rain.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I've been catching some spiritual flack for posting so many poems about my pain in life.1st, most of the 'pain' poems are VERY old.2nd, I don't write much about joyous occasions because I'm usually too enthralled in them to stop and write about them.3rd, 'You will be persecuted for your love of Christ.' I've written about battle scars. I will never be ashamed of those. Too often the world forgets that love of Christ DOES begat persecution, which begats pain. But I will try to write more about the things that make me happy.
