I did not dream what I wanted to dream
But a seemingly dreamless nght instead
Entered spaces around and within
And silence in darkness could only spread;
The dreamless hands, with nothing to hold
Could rest for longer above and under
Covers that covered the night and the cold
Left by another silence in wonder
The wonder of sleepless nights full of dreams
When restless hands covered all the marvels
That wildest dreams could not even foresee
In their magic or in all their travels
What, sweet dreams, with your pretty colours
Have you done with all those wondrous covers
