Sonnet: With God As Friend Why Should I Fear Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: With God As Friend Why Should I Fear

Rating: 5.0

Oh, let me bear the trials of my life!
For Thy sake Lord, I want to sacrifice;
Let anger not take over me in strife;
Let me be honest, hard-working and wise.

I thank Thee Lord for gifts Thou did bestow;
Help me O God, Thy Will to realize;
My missionary zeal has started now;
My Divine-work seems increasingly nice.

I know the cost of buying Thy disciple-ship,
Is suffering and persecution, Lord;
But nothing scares when God is in friendship,
And to Thy divine song, I play my chord.

Help me O Lord, to keep always upright;
Help me O God to serve Thee with my might.
