Sonnet: On Gratitude Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: On Gratitude

Develop the attitude of gratitude,
And spread around you cheer in hearts and minds;
Let happiness improve in magnitude,
As confidence and bliss in life rewinds.

'Tis gratitude, the parent of virtues;
Do often say the magic words, ‘thank you',
As smiles on faces sad promptly accrues;
You can become the successful, a few.

Thank God for gifts and blessings, He bestowed;
Thank parents, teachers, friends and neighbors all;
Thank God for all the talents, He endowed;
Thank all who heeded timely to your call.

Make gratitude a habit precious-most;
Without this virtue, life can be a ghost!
