Sonnet: Let Sense Of Values Always Prevail Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: Let Sense Of Values Always Prevail

When we were younger, had so little, yet,
The happiness, poor parents gave was much;
As parents now, we give too much but get
Not even words of kindness, soothing touch!

This paradox of life mind-boggling grows;
Discontent fills both hearts and minds with time;
All love's unrequited that kindred sows,
Despite the strife, life brings, when changes clime.

Humanity is turning less humane;
And blind are eyes, and deaf are ears to love;
Mankind avoids the tougher, narrow lane,
Forgetting love of God awesome, above.

May human hearts nurture more gratitude
With time, and turn new leaf and attitude!

Dedicated by Dr.A.Celestine Raj Manohar to my dear wife Mrs. Mercy Celestine,
to mark our pearl Wedding Day Anniversary
