Somehow, You Keep Thinking, Has God Forgiven You?
a shortness of breath.
something pierces your heart.
the wife is frying fish
in the kitchen.
the houseboy is sweeping
the yard and feeding
the pigs.
every step you make is
another hardship.
somehow, you keep thinking,
has God forgiven you?
are you ready for the next
show?
how does the garden
look there?
what is it that illuminates the
darkness of the heart?
