Snake Poem by Dorsey Baker

Snake

A snake might
shed its skin
but it is
still a snake
without within

watch your step
when you
walk in the grass
a snake
might be waiting and watching
as you pass
might bite
kill you
with its deadly strike
that is
what a snake is like
you make a mistake
if you trust
a snake
goes back
to the Bible
snake bruise your heel
you bruise its head
don't just wound
but kill it dead!
