Snake Poem by Langston Hughes

Snake

Rating: 2.4

He glides so swiftly
Back into the grass-
Gives me the courtesy of road
To let me pass,
That I am half ashamed
To seek a stone
To kill him.

I picked this poem to compare it with D H Lawrence's snake. Just like Lawrence LANGSTON was ashamed of his feelings.

Yes, we should be ashamed of killing a snake unnecessarily.....thought provoking
