SEA Poem by Monica Aasprong

SEA

I saw a sea that took the veil
I saw a sea that put up a sail

I saw a sea that was so dark
I saw a sea that hid a shark

I saw a sea that had no bridge
I saw a sea that was very rich

I saw a sea that aimed so high
I saw a sea inside an eye

I saw a sea that was a grave
I saw a sea I wanted to save

I saw a sea with many ships
I saw a sea with shivering lips

I saw a sea with a perfect facade
I saw a sea that had become hard

I saw a sea that lost its way
I saw a sea that wanted to stay

I saw a sea that had a dream
I saw a sea that followed the stream

I saw a sea that had turned pale
I saw a sea that was for sale

I saw a sea that feared the water
I saw a sea that feared a slaughter

I saw a sea with many layers
I saw a sea that said its prayers

I saw a sea that wouldn't adjust
I saw a sea I couldn't trust

I saw a sea with many stars
I saw a sea with many scars

I saw a sea that had no port
I saw a sea that went to court

I saw a sea that lit a light
I saw a sea that loved the night

I saw a sea that was full of fright
I saw a sea that was out of sight

I saw a sea that had no name
I saw a sea that was to blame

I saw a sea that was left behind
I saw a sea that was in my mind

I saw a sea that did obey
I saw a sea that had turned grey

I saw a sea that was so cold
I saw a sea I coudn't hold

I saw a sea that wasn't there
I saw a sea I couldn't hear

I saw a sea that was full of wishes
I saw a sea that had no fishes

I saw a sea that tried to behave
I saw a sea that tried to be brave
