ROLLING SIX:

‘Rolling Six' wide open played
Offensive depending upon the call
Roundness bouncing action
Carrying momentum -full court
Pressure defended depending upon
Biological mechanics of youth
Inevitability restrictions set aside
Where you been? Homecoming
For Coach Pope a spontaneous
Selector of best fives -at last
Year's playoffs -simplicity
Prevailed in six dimensions
Fifty six years and Coach Pope
Sat restricted to a motor-less
Ambulatory chair -reunion in one
Hand now the ball wasn't there
Hands all around semi-motionless
Somewhat slower than
Spontaneity -sluggish smiles
Lagging turn of heads
Slowly drag the wishes
To the eye -laugher satisfaction
Still present from the long-gone-by
Last year's reunion sold out the
Blue Grass Inn records the registry
Of lasting pages slowly
Turning -fading old memories
Casting glimpses like no-look
Assist passes to the now
Unguarded wide open friends.
