Resilient Poem by Bernard F. Asuncion

Resilient

Let my life withstand the shock
Without permanent rupture;
Making it hard like a rock,
Sans emotional fracture.

Let my crushed and shattered soul
Recover from misfortune;
Let me achieve my great goal,
With firm or fixed intention.

Let not my heart break in two,
Let me rise from being down;
Let me overcome the blue,
Allow me to stand my ground.

Let my mind adjust to change,
Adapting to harsh climate;
Although the mountain is strange,
I will still try to climb it.

Let my spirit be in shape
To fight my faith's enemy;
From Father's wrath I‘ll escape,
To attain the Lord's glory.
