President Joe Biden- The New Sunshine Of America Poem by Bernedita Rosinha Pinto

President Joe Biden- The New Sunshine Of America

Dear Mr. President...
Congratulations and celebrations
to you and your momentous achievement;
may progress and perseverance be your goals
may honor of your promises be your focus
may you march ahead and never look at the surface
for long and lengthy is that journey uphill
where as a President you have to lead your nation
thro the corridors of prosperity and well being.

Look at all those who will seek your vision
look at all those who will await your signal
look at all those who will follow your directions
look at all those who will require your co-operation.

Make your country new as ever,
as the baton is now in your hands
and the new President of your nation is just you;
so build your country with the dreams you hold for her,
accomplish all the greatness your country deserves;
and though many will join you, cheer you,
assist you and walk with you this journey of time,
it is only you who has to prove that you are worthy
of that great trust you have asked people to have in you.

And as America will wake up each day to a new dawn
with new expectations and look at the skies overhead;
the sunshine outside their window they will call it Biden;
and as you smile and speak, remember and honor
those promises you made in your fervent speeches
that reinforced America as the greatest democracy.

So, Bravo O' President bravo, now be the epitome
of unity and solidarity as United States of America
has shown their unity and that they respect and value
equality, peace and justice;
so live up to their dreams O' President,
let no discrimination ever flicker in any corner
let no black American get under any knee and perish
let every American exist, breathe and think so freely
so that democracy and you inter-weave a new reality.
